Forget smart phones!
Forget video games and smartphones — more and more millennials are putting down their controllers and picking up their dice to play board games, just like their grandparents used to do.

Next month thousands of game enthusiasts will travel to Birmingham for the famous UK Games Expo, the third-largest games convention in the world. The event has grown from 1,000 visitors in its first year, to over 31,000 last year. It aims to bring people of all ages together to try out both exciting new games and classic well-known ones. Johnathon Berkowitz of Hasbro Gaming says: 'The gaming industry is doing really well right now and the situation is even better for face-to-face games. We're continuing to see their popularity grow as more millennials are choosing to switch from their video games consoles to much more sociable table-top games.'

Millennials may be making face-to-face games fashionable again, but the great thing is they can be shared across the generations. According to Elsa, a board game fan, 'You can't play video games with a big group of people, but with a table-top board game you can. They suit everyone, even people who aren't good with technology, and they allow people to get talking face-to-face again, rather than through a screen.' They can also make better financial sense than online games, she adds: 'Video games work with in-app purchases which make them much more expensive. With a board game you just buy it once and that's it.'
