A Good Day?

Peter usually got up at 6 a.m. because he started work at 8, but today was different. He got up at 10, and he had a slow breakfast at the kitchen table. He ate eggs and bread, and drank hot coffee. He didn't watch TV, he didn't listen to the radio. It was quiet.

He usually took the bus with other people, or sometimes drove, but today he didn't take the bus and he didn't drive. He walked to the park. He met his friend. They usually ran in the park, but today Peter didn't want to run. They went for a walk, then his friend bought lunch. They talked for a long time. Later, Peter went home and he sat in his garden. He listened to the birds.

Today Peter didn't break anything. He didn't forget a meeting. He didn't go to a busy restaurant. He didn't lose his phone on the bus. It was a good day.

1Read the story. Was it a good or bad day for Peter?
